September 7 - Happy Birthday Buddy!

On September 7th, 1936, one of music's great all time talents was born. Buddy Holly, known worldwide for his hit singles "Peggy Sue" and "That'll be the day", was hailed by music critic Bruce Elder as "the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll." Holly was among the first inductees into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

Unfortunately, Holly is most well known for his shocking death at the age of 22 when a plane carrying Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper crashed en route to Minnesota. Holly's death sent shock waves throughout the music world and was dubbed as "The Day the Music Died".
