Oct 2 - "Peanuts" turns 60!

On this day, 60 years ago, Charles M. Schulz published the first ever issue of "Peanuts". The strip ran for almost 50 years and is considered to be one of the most influential comic strips of all time. The comic strip gave birth to iconic cartoon characters Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Peppermint Patty.

The comic strip had incredible success on television as well. A Charlie Brown Christmas has become a staple on TV during Christmas time and even won an Emmy in the 1960's.

Nearly 18,000 Peanuts comic strips have been published, making it "arguably the longest story ever told by one human being"--Professor Robert Thompson.
