October 11 - Saturday Night Live Debuts!

On this day, 35 years ago, iconic comedy sketch TV show "Saturday Night Live" first debuted on NBC. SNL is one of the longest running network TV shows in the United States, with nearly 700 episodes being broadcast since 1975. Movies such as "A Night at the Roxbury", "Wayne's World" and "Coneheads" are all movies based off of Saturday Night Live sketches.

Betty White is the oldest celebrity guest to host SNL at the ripe age of 88 years and 111 days. Drew Barrymore is the youngest guest to host at the tender age of 7 years and 271 days. Comedian George Carlin was the first ever guest to host Saturday Night Live.
