October 5 - The first James Bond movie is released!

On this day 48 years ago, Sean Connery starred in the first ever James Bond film: Dr. No. The film was the first time fans go to see the legendary "gun barrel sequence" at the start of a Bond movie, see him flirt with Miss Moneypenny, or say the iconic phrase:"Bond, James Bond". Dr. No was a huge success as it grossed nearly $60 million worldwide and is credited for being the catalyst that launched a very successful genre of spy movies in the 1960's.

Today the role of James Bond is played by English actor, Daniel Craig. Early reports state that filming for the new Bond movie could begin as early as mid 2011.
