November 7 - "The Waterboy" hits the theatres

Can you believe it's been 12 years? Yes, on this day in 1998, Adam Sandler's box office smash hit, "The Waterboy" hit the theaters. The movie was a huge success, as it grossed nearly $186 million worldwide. Along with "The Wedding Singer", this would be Sandler's second movie of 1998 that grossed over $100 million.

The movie was based around a stuttering waterboy named Bobby Boucher, who becomes the star Linebacker for the South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs. The movie features appearances from Rob Schneider, Paul White (aka "The Big Show" from WWE), and Henry Winkler (aka "The Fonz").

Along with Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, Bobby Boucher is one of Sandler's most iconic characters.
